Promotions and the Academy of Brian Johnson presented NW Fight Challenge
9, Sat April 24th from South Puget Sound Community College
in Olympia, WA. Brian Johnson and crew put on another SOLD OUT show in Olympia,
WA! By far this is one of the best amateur shows in the northwest. 15 MMA and Kickboxing bouts went off including 4 title
fights. In the first of these, Kellin King of Brian
Johnson's Fight Team picked up the
NW Fight Challenge 145 lb Kickboxing Title via a unanimous
decision in a five round war with Gamebred BJJ's Matt Beal.

Dragon's Justin Larsson added another belt to his
collection by catching

Benson in a Rd 2 Guillotine Choke for the 170 lb MMA title.

AMC's Taurean Washington finished Harrison Bevens for the
170 lb MMA Superfight belt, while
Kevin White defeated Jeff Butterfield to win the 135 MMA
Superfight title.

night also included a huge MMA raffle benefit to help with
medical bills for Brian Johnson's 15 year old fighter,
Kaimana, who is battling cancer. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets! The raffle was a great success!

This was a controversial decision. The crowd was split on this
too. Most thought the win should have gone to Treveno! Like they say, don't let it go into the judges hands.

results in a DRAW
This was an interesting bout.
Owens threw some hard punches with little effect to. Larsson was a little slow getting started but kept the pace up just enough to get the draw. After the fight the referee recovered both of
Larsson's contacts from the mat. I am sure Larsson would have performed better if he could have seen a little better. This fight needs to be done again! Fight fans want to see the rematch!

This fight was the most technical of the night. In typical
Larsson fashion it was back and forth, & then it was simply over with Justin pulling off
a crazy submission out of nowhere. When's this guy going to go pro? He needs to start getting paid for his hard work!

This fight was fought hard and was a little Crazy! A great
fight to end the night. Some would say fight of the night? Bevens
rocked Washington, tried to pounce on him and ended up in his guard and was caught in a triangle to end
