Xtreme Cage Combat Challenge 2 - November 11th, 2006

Bowers Construction and USA Mixed Martial Arts presented Xtreme Cage Combat

Challenge 2 this past Saturday inside the Grays Harbor County Pavilion just a 30 min

drive from Olympia. 1200+ fans braved the rain to come out and cheer on

their favorite fighters representing some of the best fight teams of the South Sound

and SW Washington.  They surely were not disappointed as the 13 bouts saw

thunderous body slams, wicked submissions, and some serious toe-to-toe standup

for an incredible night of combat sport. But the entertainment didn't stop there.

The dance moves of the smokin' hot XCC ring girls provided plenty of excitement of

their own, while 3 bands played loud and heavy beforehand and at intermission to

set the tone. The beer garden was conveniently located and well visited, as were

all the cool vendors who were just outside in the exhibition hall.  These included

Vicious Fightgear, the Ace of Spades, Line-X of Olympia, Fusion Graphix, and

Tomcat Tattoo where fans were able to get their tats right then and there.

On the production side, Last Call Entertainment did a stellar job with both the

sound and live video with a big screen showing all the action.  Matchmaker Dennis

Hallman put together a great card while witty Fight Announcer, Christopher Cope,

kept the show running smoothly. Referee Matt Lininger did a standup job in

ensuring the fighter's safety while still allowing the fighters to go at it.

Overall, this was a highly entertaining show and promoter, Trevor Michaelis,

is lining up a monster show for Xtreme Cage Combat Challenge 3

scheduled March 17th at the Little Creek Casino in Shelton, Washington.

Bout 1 - Novice Submission Grappling (3 catches)

Justin Kelly and Tim Vannerson (both - Academy of Brian Johnson) grappled to a

draw. Justin caught Tim with a rear choke in the first couple minutes. Tim worked

a keylock on Justin a little later. Time expired before either caught another.
