ARCO Arena - Sacremento, California

Photos by Mike Renouard

12,682 fight fans packed Sacremento's ARCO Arena for the 34th WEC featuring hometown hero and WEC Featherweight Champion, Uriah Faber, going up against former UFC Lightweight Champion and world-class MMA veteran, Jens Pulver. The noise was deafening in the arena with the audience going nuts as Faber made his march to the cage with the sounds of Dr Dre and Tupac's "California Love" filling the air. He met a waiting Pulver there and, for five rounds, the pair of warriors gave the Sacramento crowd and 1.5 million+ viewers around the country watching on the VERSUS network, a true display of what Mixed Martial Arts is all about.

WEC 35 will be held on August 3rd at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, and again will be broadcast live on the VERSUS network. 3 WEC belts will be on the line this time. Welterweight Champ Carlos Condit will defend his title for the 3rd time, this time against Pancrase and K-1 vet, Hiromitsu Miura. Lightweight Champion, Jamie Varner, will make his first title defense against an undefeated Marcus Hicks. Light Heavyweight Champ, Brian Stann, will also make his first title defense against Steve Cantwell. More info can be found at www.WEC.TV.
