This
Saturday, May 2nd, the inaugural event of THE
MMA ALLIANCE, LLC
is set to go at the 7000+ seat SHOWARE
CENTER
in Kent, Washington, with 10 Professional MMA matchups.
"The Uprising" features a stacked card filled
with many of the Northwest top pros and is an event not to
be missed by hardcore and casual MMA fans alike.
The
Main Event is a heavyweight bout between Mike
"300" Hayes out of Kirkland, WA's White Buffalo
Warriors going up against DJ Linderman who represents
Yreka, CA's Team Do Somethin'. The 6'4" Hayes has
notable wins over tough NW warriors Matt Kovacs, Kyle
Keeney, Josh Bennett and Jeremiah Constant. He is looking
to rebound from a recent loss to Mario Miranda in March.
DJ Linderman replaced Fabiano Scherner for this fight and
enters with 3 consecutive wins on the Sportfight stage
against Justin Moody, Mychal Clark, and most recently Kyle
Keeney April 3rd.
The
Co-Main Event will feature Sportfight Middleweight
Champion Mario Miranda versus Chad Vance out of Iowa.
Miranda, who trains under Matt Hume out of AMC
Kickboxing in Kirkland, won his Sportfight belt on April
3rd over Tyson Jeffries and is undefeated as a pro at 7-0,
notably handing UFC-bound Ricky Story his only loss. Vance
is two time NCAA Division Three national wrestling champion and was also a member of Brock Lesnar's training camp for UFC 91.
In
a Light Heavyweight bout that has the potential to be
fight of the night, Former IFL Seattle Tigershark veteran
Bristol Marunde will take on former Strikeforce
competitor, Mychal "Bolo" Clark. Both these
popular warriors live and train in the Seattle area (Marunde
with West Coast Fitness and Clark with Lotus Jiu-jitsu),
and both love to stand and bang so this one is sure to
bring the crowd to its feet.
At
155 lbs, former IFL Seattle Tigershark Shad Lierley will
fight Deryk Ripley. Lierley entered into the national MMA consciousness
by going the distance with Chris Horodecki at the IFL's
event in Everett in June of 2007, in a bout many
considered to be 2007's fight of the year. After the IFL's
demise, Lierley took some time off to get some body work
done. Fully healed up, 5'10" Lierley enters this bout
looking to take out the 6'0 tall Ripley who is a vet of 23
professional fights and hails from Missouri.
6
more pro fights will round out the undercard featuring a
number of familiar faces to NW MMA fans. Tickets for The Uprising are available at ShoWare Center's Box Office, online at
www.ShoWareCenter.com or by phone at 253-856-6999. Prices not including fees range from $75 for
"cage side" seats to $30 for "end zone" seats.
Doors
open at 6 PM, Fights start at 7 PM. The Showare Center is

About The MMA ALLIANCE:
The MMA Alliance was founded by partners Aaron McCrary, David de Jesus, and Sean E. Huertas combining their efforts with local UFC fighter Reese Andy for matchmaking and consulting. After observing a void of consistent, large venue professional events in the central King County market, the MMA Alliance has stepped forward in an attempt to bring high quality Professional
MMA, which showcases the abundance of highly trained local athletes, into the greater Seattle area.
Beyond the cage, The MMA Alliance fosters a close working relationship with the Washington State Athletic Commission to ensure all events are properly sanctioned and certified, and all participating athletes are properly licensed. Further, the MMA Alliance works diligently both to help the sport continue entertaining the existing fan base, as well as increase the positive perception of the sport among casual fans.
