For
their 12th United Fight Night, promoters Eddy Ellis and Lisa Ward
moved the show out of their United Training Center and into the
confines of the Pierce College gym in Lakewood WA. 12 amateur
fights went down including the United Fight Night Bantamweight
Championship between
Tyler Thompson and John Heilman.
The
bout between Thompson and Heilman was definitely Fight of the
Night.
This the second time these guys have gone at it, with this fight
being mostly stand up (while their 1st one was an all ground
fight). While these guys both fought 5 hard rounds, Thompson just has Heilman's number.
We will see plenty more from both of these fighters in the future.
I have No doubt that these 2 will meet again in the Pros!
Afterwards, Thompson thanked Hooligan Inc, Tom Cat Tattoo, Justin
Larsson, Steve Hagara,
Scott Aarhaus, and everyone at Twin Dragons. Thompson will be defending one of his other belts on
April 23rd on Brian Johnson's card in Olympia WA.
Fighter
of the Night went to
Michael Gamino who defeated Clinton Clemens via a 3rd round TKO.
Gamino used his superior wrestling skills to control his opponent in the cage.
He is a great addition to the amateur heavyweight division here in the
NW and moves on to 2-0 with the win.
