"Let's show 'em why we are the main event!"...
says Team Quest's Enoch "The Animal" Wilson to former World Extreme Champion Chase "Rage" Beebe as they weighed in for the main event of Caged Combat 5 presented by United Combat Sports (UCS). Both Wilson, the current UCS 145 lb champion, and Beebe made weight after two tries, Wilson shedding a pound from 145.5 to 144.5 and Beebe losing 2 pounds after weighing in at 147 even. Both fighters are pumped for this fight, amping each other up behind the scenes. Its easy to see that these two fighters respect each other and know they are good, but when the cage door shuts on Friday night things will change and it will be a competition of will & skills. Chase has had fights all over the world as is extremely happy to be fighting for the Featherweight Title at Spirit Mountain Casino in Grand Ronde Oregon against Enoch Wilson, a NW favorite and veteran on the NW circuit, who has grown up through the NW MMA scene and is happy to be fighting in his backyard.
The Co-Main event is the highly anticipated UCS Welterweight Title fight between the "General" JT Taylor and "Fast" Eddy Ellis. This bout pits two guys who have been on the fight circuit for good long while but both approaching the fight from two different angles. Don't blink or leave your seat for this fight as its gonna be a wild one!
Another pro title up for grabs is the UCS Pro 155 lb Championship between hometown hero and Grand Ronde fan favorite, Jake Mcknight from Team Chaos, taking on Henry Martinez out of Greg Jackson's MMA camp. Martinez had some trouble making weight and if he comes out on top will not win the belt, yet the fight will go on!
The last title bout is an amateur 185 lb title fight with current Champion Corey "Agnar" Wyatt from Midtown MMA saying this is it for him with the amateur side of fighting... but he will throw down one more time against Jesse Apadoca. This fight should see both guys slinging bombs all over it as they are big and throw heavy leather. Someone is sure to be going down! As this is Corey Wyatt's last Ammy fight, watch for him to impress some pro's watching in the crowd.
It's time to fight, get your seat and make sure to play NWFS MMA Triva on the NW Fightscene Facebook Page to win two pieces of autographed memorabilia: one signed by UFC fighter Evan Duhnam & one signed by Strikeforce Women's 135lb Champion, Miesha "Takedown" Tate!
The fights start at 8 p.m., doors open at 7, for ages 21 and over.
