Tachi Palace Fights VIII "All or Nothing" - February 18th, 2011

Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino - Lemoore, California

Review by Spaniard

Lemoore, CA - Former UFC fighter David "The Crow" Loiseau only needed one opportunity to take the TPF Middleweight title once entering the Tachi Palace Fighting Organization. The Canadian faced current champ Leopoldo Serao and this was a fight that wasn't goin' places fast, and as the fight dragged on, the crowd let the fighters have it. Serao kept attacking with submissions but Loiseau would escape and land punches or elbows. It was elbows that finally finished off Serao at 1:12 Rd 5 and handed The Crow the Tachi Middleweight Championship belt.

NW fighter and former UFC vet John Gunderson was another guy given a pink slip by the UFC that was looking to get back to work. However, he met Dominque "The Fallen Angel" Robinson who would like to get a job as well. These two had been in heated debates pre fight night, even to the point of shoving and nearly fighting at the weigh-ins. Yet, when the two fighters finally met in the cage, it was all Robinson. Gunderson attempted to get Robinson down but it didn't help to go the ground, he was reversed and ate knees, punches, and hammer fists. Robinson finished Gunderson at 41 seconds of round 3.

Bellator fighter Ulysses Gomez was handed his first loss since 2008 at the hands and kicks of Darrell "Mongoose" Montague. This TPF Flyweight Title fight was fast paced and full of action as the Mongoose was all over Gomez from start to finish. Montague had a very quick and jumpy pace that took Ulysses out of his game. After the end of the 5th round a new champion was crowned and the Mongoose earns a Unanimous decision victory over a very tough Ulysses Gomez.

WEC veteran Ian "Mr. Creepy" McCall, and highly regarded as a #1 125lb contender Jussier Da Silva, faced off in a 5 round battle that easily could play into a contender match for Mr. Montague's new belt. Da Silva took control of the first round taking McCall's back locking a body triangle and scoring points. However, McCall survived and seemed to come alive in the later rounds landing more punches and a couple great knees. The fight could have easily been Fight of the Night, and in the end Mr. Creepy wins Best Nickname award and the unanimous decision victory

Edgar Garcia made quick work of Mike Moreno in the middleweight division. Garcia tapped Moreno with a guillotine choke in 41 seconds. Edgar Garcia is another guy trying to get back into the UFC. This win will be a great start. A couple other fighters trying to get back to work in the UFC were Steve Lopez and Fabricio Camoes... but there can only be one winner and it was Fabricio Camoes who needed just 23 second to knockout Lopez with a roundhouse and it was over.
