An
epic night of fights went down June 18th as Bart Smith's
Northwest Fighting promotion took over the historic
Masonic Center Auditorium in Spokane for the 28th Spokane
Showdown. The event featured 4 pro as well as 8 amateur
bouts, plus an appearance by UFC vet and current
Strikeforce fighter Trevor Prangley.

The
main event featured a pro 135 lb Superfight between Team
Quest's Damen Wood and Zach Lari representing Trevor
Prangley's American Kickboxing Academy. After a action
packed first round, Wood was able to secure a shoulder
lock early in the 2nd that forced the tap from Lari.
 
In
the nights 3 other pro bouts, BJJ Spokane's Josh
Rettinghouse scored a TKO victory in the 3rd over
Arlington Kickboxing Academy's Christian Oritz, Irish Hit
Squad's Angel Diaz beat Carlos Rodriguez via a 2nd rd
Guillotine Choke, and Ryan Mulvihill out of SoB MMA beat
Joey Becker by Rear Naked Choke in the first round.
 
The
next Spokane Showdown will be July 30th at the East
Central Community Center in Spokane with an all amateur
card featuring future pros Jacob Harkness, Richie Morales and Christian Nibarger who are ready to defend their belts against hungry new
