Seattle Looks to Continue Winning Ways
at SFL America: Team Challenge

Press Release from Halquist Productions

Seattle and Los Angeles Clash in MMA Showdown at the Emerald Queen Casino

TACOMA, Wash. – After coming up victorious in the inaugural SFL America: Team Challenge two months ago, Team Seattle looks to keep the momentum going when it takes on Team Los Angeles at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma on Saturday.

Spearheaded by light heavyweights Brent “Mankill” Knopp and undefeated Dylan Potter, Team Seattle also features highly -regarded Bobby McIntyre, who challenged Justin Harrington for the SFL America lightweight championships in his last bout, bantamweight Anthony Zender, flyweight Armando Best and female flyweight Jenny Liou.

“It’s an impressive lineup,” promoter Brian Halquist said. “I think the Pacific Northwest has shown over the last decade or so just how gifted the MMA fighters are in this region. It’s going to be an incredible card.”

SFL America: Team Challenge – Seattle vs. Los Angeles will feature eight bouts - two preliminary and six Seattle vs. Los Angeles bouts, including one female contest.

Fighters will earn 6 points for a KO, 5 points for a submission victory, 4 points for a TKO, 3 points for a decision and 1 point for a draw with the winning team collecting the most combined points.

Tickets are available through the EQC box office and all Ticketmaster outlets. Preliminary bouts start at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Knopp (6-1) will face Adam Dehart, who will have former UFC heavyweight champion Josh Barnett in his corner, in the main event. The hard-hitting Knopp was victorious in his first six professional fights, finishing them all by KO.

Potter (4-0) has done everything right so far in his pro career. He kicked off his winning streak by defeating Chris Aparicio at SFL 44 on Sept. 26, 2015 before notching victories at SFL 45 and SFL 46. Potter squares off against Thomas Hoeper (4-2), who fought for the SFL America Light Heavyweight championship at SFL 44.

McIntyre (4-2) was last seen battling Harrington for the lightweight crown in a thrilling bout that has gone down as one of the greatest ever at the Emerald Queen Casino. McIntyre meets Shohei Yamamoto (2-1) in a bout that could potentially steal the show.

Zender, who has won his last four fights, will attempt to prolong his winning streak when he fights Brandon Frunk, while Liou meets Sara D’Alelio in the female flyweight bout.

Team Seattle defeated Team Portland on May 7 in the first ever SFL America: Team Challenge. The battle for Pacific Northwest supremacy came down to the final bout with Seattle posting the overall team victory, 17-13.

SFL America: Team Challenge will be live streamed on Facebook and YouTube and will also be shown on Myx TV on Wednesday, July 27th.

The Super Fight League will also be having a pre-event party at the Emblem nightclub in Tacoma, WA on Friday, July 22nd. Fans are encouraged to come out and celebrate SFL 50 with special guests from L.A. and SFL resident DJ
