In
the main event for the Sportfight World Welterweight Championship,
Nathan Coy out of Team Quest and the current Welterweight Champ, took on
Sportfight Lightweight Champ Travis Bush training out of Sikjitsu. This
much anticipated battle was over as soon as it began as Coy came out and
caught Bush with a knee to the face and finished him on the ground with
Bush tapping to strikes at just 16 seconds into the contest.

NW
Fightscene caught up with Coy after the fight...
NW
Fightscene: You're just coming off a real quick victory over Travis Bush. Tell us your thoughts coming out of
there.
Nathan Coy: Well, you know, I train hard. I train to go twenty-five minutes with top-level competition. And I also train to knock people out
or submit them. And that's my plan.
NWFS: Did you come out looking to do what you
did, coming out hard like that?
Coy: Yeah. I wanted to put on a pace that he would have eventually broke to. Had it not been quick it would have been soon enough.
NWFS: You fought Mike Pierce
and beat him, and now he's in the UFC. What about you? What's on your
horizon?
Coy: To be the best. If its the UFC, great. But my plan is to continue to win and to establish myself as an all around great fighter.
NWFS: Anyone
to thank?
Coy: I want to thank my family, and the working class people out there working hard to keep our country on top.
In
the other pro bouts, Tyson Nam of Team Quest had little trouble with Nick Honstein
in a bout at 135 lbs, overwhelming him through a round and a half
before the ref mercifully stopped the bout.
At
Heavyweight, Nick Braker's pro experience showed as he weathered what
debuting pro fighter Will Walden threw at him in a good back and forth
battle, before quickly submitting Walden via Arm Triangle when
the opportunity presented itself in the 2nd round.

Independent
Middleweight Casey Manrique continues to fight and submit opponents on
the Sportfight stage, this time taking out the talented Tyson
Jeffries. Manrique was initially dropped by a Jeffries bomb but
defended well and reversed into position to secure an Arm Triangle
submission at 2 minutes into the first.
Sikjitsu's
Roy Bradshaw beat Twisted Genetiks Kevin Rhoades via Guillotine Choke
with just 2 seconds left in the first round in a catchweight bout at
150 lbs.
