A tremendous evening of Mixed Martial Arts went down January 23rd inside the Snoqualmie Casino ballroom as Combat Games MMA kicked off their 2015 fight year with Rumble on the Ridge XXX. 6 pro and 5 amateur MMA bouts took place, along with 1 amatur kickboxing bout in front of a sold-out house. In the main event, two of the top pro middleweights in the Pacific Northwest in Alfonso Gonzales and Jordan Currie went to battle for the COGA MMA 185 lb belt. The first round went to Currie who used his hands effectively, at one point dropping Gonzales with a big punch. Gonzales gathered himself though between rounds and took the fight to the ground, taking round two and then finishing a tough Currie via rear naked choke at 2:03 of round 3.
In the Co-main Event, Albert Tadevosyan remains undefeated as a pro with an impressive 1st round finish of Frankie Orr, by Rear Naked Choke at the 3:33 mark.
Singha MMA's Paul Njoku returned to the cage after more than a year's hiatus taking on debuting pro Zach Zane. The featherweights engaged in a good scrap for two plus rounds before Zane took a hard kick to the leg that put him down on the mat in pain. The ref stopped the contest at 38 seconds of the third giving Njoku the TKO win.
Anthony Reyes, fighting out of Combat Sport and Fitness, submitted Rob "Ironman" Cann via rear naked choke midway through the 2nd round in their pro 145 lb bout.
In a pro 170 lb contest, Mike Ross of Ivan Salaverry MMA took Joe Whearty to the mat in the 2nd round, put him in a crucifix, and rained down strikes forcing a ref stoppage at 3:03 of the round.
Jordan Mackin picked up his first pro win by submitting Alex Eastman via rear naked choke at 2:32 of the first round in a 140 lb catchweight fight.
Johnson Nasona of the White Buffalo Warriors scored a 1st round TKO via ground strikes over Brock Eastman in an amateur featherweight contest.
Ivan Salaverry MMA's Fay Bursell got the win over Mike Holt of Big Will's Gym by way of 2nd round rear naked choke.
In a women's 130 lb MMA bout, Chelcie Delmeny was deadly accurate with her punching in a standup battle with Shelby Miller, taking home the TKO win via doctor stoppage before the beginning of round three.
In the amateur heavyweight division, ACA's Keith Arnes had a successful MMA debut by finishing Luis Villa on the ground with some big shots at 2:35 of the first.
SNRG's Rob Burgess scored the Knockout of the Night dropping Marco Huerta with a perfectly timed punch and then making sure the deal was sealed with another big shot as Huerta lay on the canvas at just 25 seconds in.
Carissa Painter and Rachel Helseth opened the fights with an entertaining kickboxing battle in the 135 lb weight class, with Painter getting the TKO win midway through the 2nd round.
