A
sold-out crowd 1750 strong turned out for the 4th Rumble On
The Ridge outside the Snoqualmie Casino on August 15th.
Against the beautiful backdrop of the Cascade Mountains,
Punch Drunk Promotions, headed by Joe DeRobbio, & the Snoqualmie Casino served up
an outdoor show with 9 amateur & 3 pro
bouts taking place.
Former
UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, was
on hand, helping to raise money for the Salute A
Soldier Foundation
as well as interacting with fans all
day by signing autographs and taking photos.
A
number of other MMA notables were also present including WEC
Lightweight Champion Jamie Varner, UFC Fighter "Bad" Brad
Blackburn, UFC Fighter Dennis
Hallman (who just signed a 4 fight deal with the promotion), Former UFC
Fighter Ivan Salaverry, WEC/UFC/Strikeforce vet Tiki Ghosn,
Strikeforce vet Eddy Ellis, and The Ultimate Fighter Season 10
cast member Demico Rogers.

Members
of Seattle's pro lingerie football team, The Seattle Mist,
had a booth setup promoting their first game which takes
place September 11th at the Showare Center. Some soulful
music during the intermissions was put on by the Po'okela
Street Band, plus there were plenty of vendors for the fans
to check out including Hooligan Inc, Vicious Fightgear,
Jacknut Clothing, GameCrazy, DTC Clothing, and more.
The
12 Mixed Martial Arts fights provided plenty of excitement
for the crowd including the main event which saw a solid
performance put in by a resurgent Devin Cole (ex IFL
Portland Wolfpack member) who used superior wrestling and excellent
cardio to outpace and outpoint Heavyweight opponent Mike
Hayes over 3 rounds.
IFL
veteran, Bristol Marunde, took just over two minutes to
submit Justin Davis via Rear Naked Choke. The night's other
pro fight went the distance as Arizona Combat Sport's Jade
Porter outfought the White Buffalo Warrior's Chanti Johnson
over three rounds for a decision win.
Two
amateur title fights took place and both were marred by
rather unfortunate endings. In the Lightweight Title bout,
Lupe Hudgens repeatedly attempted armbar submissions on the
rubbery Jeff Hatton only to see Hatton slip out and pound
Hudgens for the trouble. In the 2nd round Hudgens caught
Hatton once again and after a minute or so, Referee Ryan Hoisington
stepped in and stopped the fight in order to save Hatton's
arm. Hatton immediately protested and demonstrated he was
uninjured by doing pushups but it was to no avail. This was
a great fight and hopefully we can see these two rematch
again.
In
the Middleweight Title fight, Bill Sullivan landed a solid
knee to the head of Dex Montenegro
which is a no-no for the amateurs. Unfortunately, Montenegro
was knocked for a loop and Referee Hoisington
had no choice but to DQ Sullivan giving the belt to
Montenegro
