The
Revolution 02.09.08 had over 200 athletes from
50+ schools & fight clubs from around the NW competing
in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and Submission Grappling. There certainly
would have been many more had it not been for the
unfortunate closing of the mountain passes that kept many
athletes East of the Cascades at home. Many of the Northwest's top
schools and fight clubs from Washington, Oregon, Northern
California, and British Columbia were represented by those
present including:
ACMMA,
AMC, BJJ
Olympia, Brian Johnson MMA, Cerna Martial Arts, C3, Fabio Santos
Competition Team, Foster BJJ, Full Circle Fight Club,
Gracie Barra Seattle/Ballard, Impact Jiu-jitsu, Ivan Salaverry
MMA, Lake Stevens BJJ, LKC Martial Arts, Lotus Club Renton,
Machado BJJ Spokane, Marcelo Alonso BJJ, New Breed, Northwest
Fighting Arts, Northwest Jiu-jitsu Academy, Northwest Kali, OBJJ,
Orv Team Fyrd, Progressive Jiu-jitsu, Ring Demon JJ,
Ring Sports United, Seaside BJJ, T-Town MMA, Team Psycho, Team Quest, United Fight Team,
Victory Athletics, West Coast Fight Club, West Coast Fitness,
and more.
The
Vicious Fightgear prize for fastest submission in
Gi went to Elisey Yarovoy and in No-Gi went to Cody McKenzie.
Other cool sponsors that made the event possible included
Rockstar Energy Drinks, Gameness Kimonos, Super Supplements,
Scrap Fight Company, Hounds of the Ground Fightgear, and
Lockflow.
Jeff,
Gina, and all the Liberty Events crew did a fantastic job in
putting together a smoothly run tournament at a brand new venue
and will be holding two more tournaments this year, the first on
July 12th (The Revolution 07.12.08) and the second on November
8th (The Revolution 11.08.08). On May 3rd, Liberty Events and
Promotions will be helping Tom Oberhue and the Sub
League
out of Oregon to put on the 3rd qualifying leg of the 2008
season in Seattle.
