Rumble at the Roseland 65 - August 25th Event Preview

Press Release from The Full Contact Fighting Federation

Portland, OR - In the Main event at Rumble @ The Roseland 65 the FCFF brings fight fans an FCFF female 125-pound Championship fight. Emily Whitmire of Animal House mma gym takes center stage against the ultra-tough Emily Corso. Whitmire was the co-main event at Rumble @ The Roseland 54 in January of 2011 and came up short against Robin Woods. She has been trying to get back into Title contention ever since. She's earned a second chance with a win over Kimberly Picard in January at a "Coastal Brawl 2: Legacy" event. Whitmire's other wins include a win over Janna Piper via TKO, Rachel Morton via TKO and Cinthia Aguirre via rear naked choke.

The woman standing in Whitmire's way on Saturday, August 25th is Emily Corso. Corso is definitely a well-rounded fighter. Her last four wins have come in a variety of ways. Two have been in round number one (via TKO) and two have been via rear naked choke submissions. Corso also holds a 125-pound Championship belt in the "Cage Star MMA" promotions event.

Crowd favorite, Alex Corrales of Bend, Oregon will return to the cage on August 25th to defend his newly earned FCFF 125-pound Championship belt against undefeated fighter: Brian Tsutsumi of Impact JJ. Corrales earned the FCFF's Flyweight belt in July of 2012 at Rumble at the Roseland 64 by defeating John Heilman via TKO of round number one. He will attempt to defend it for the first time against Tsutsumi, in what is an epic-rematch. These two fighters first met at Rumble @ The Roseland 64 in March of 2012; where Corrales lost in a hard-fought split decision. Tsutsumi doesn't plan on tarnishing his perfect record and hopes to stretch his undefeated streak to seven wins and add an FCFF belt to his accolades. He last won in May of 2012 against Jesse Lane via Unanimous decision victory and in March against Dillion Blakesley in another judge's decision victory.

The 185-pound FCFF Middleweight Championship Fight brings Jake Smith, a well-known regional fighter to FCFF competition for the first time to face off against the FCFF's current Middleweight Superfight Title holder: John Garcia of Tillamook, Oregon. Both men have six wins to their credit and want to earn the elusive FCFF Championship Title. Smith has two championship belts from the "Northwest Championship" mma production. He first won the Middleweight Title in 2011 at NW Championship 1: Armageddon against Tommy Grajo in an impressive round one knockout victory. He then defended that title in April of 2012 against Justin Albee at NW Championship 6: Brawl at the Mall and won via a round two TKO.

John "The Rock" Garcia is ready to upgrade his Middleweight Superfight belt to the Championship belt. As a long time FCFF competitor Garcia trains with Jamie Dixon in Tillamook and has wins at Caged on the Coast 6 and 3 to his credit both via tapout due to choke. He's also competed at the FCFF's "Cage Fights in Tillamook" Event where he took home the FCFF Middleweight Superfight belt with a round one win via TKO over Jesse Apodaca.

The Rumble @ The Roseland 65 Fight Card also features a Bantamweight Championship Title fight that was originally scheduled for Rumble 64's fight card. The drama is all the same, as these two Champions will finally face-off for the FCFF's 135-pound Title. This fight pits two FCFF Champions against each other in what could easily be the "Fight of the Night." The current FCFF 135-pound Titleholder, Dylan Atkinson first became Champion on January 21st 2012 at Rumble at the Roseland 61. There he defeated Justin Mark (an FCFF veteran) via a round one tapout victory. Atkinson also has wins in the FCFF at Rumble 57 and Rumble 54 via tapout and TKO. On August 25th Atkinson will face FCFF 145-pound Champion Jess Moore, who has relinquished that belt and dropped ten pounds into the Bantamweight division. If Moore wins on August 25th he will be one of the few to earn two FCFF belts in two divisions in one year. Moore, a Washougal native trains at Universal Fighters and earned the 145-pound belt at Rumble 61 in January of 2012. There he beat the super-tough Sean Soliz via a round one tapout.
