Rumble at the Roseland 64 - July 21st Event Preview

Press Release from The Full Contact Fighting Federation

Portland, OR - The 64th installment of Rumble @ The Roseland is taking place on Saturday, July 21st and it could possibly be the best Fight Card offered at any MMA event in all of 2012. In addition to four stellar FCFF Championships Fights there are three female fights on the card as well as a 170-pound Welterweight Superfight. Ticket info, times available at thefcff.com.

The FCFF 135-pound Title fight brings current Champ Dylan Atkinson back to defend his title against the current 145-pound Champ Jess Moore of Universal Fighters. Moore is relinquishing his Featherweight belt and dropping ten pounds into the next division. If he claims the 135-pound belt he will be among the few to hold two FCFF belts in two divisions in the same year.

The local MMA community is buzzing about the return of Jake "Malibu" Morris in the 170-pound Welterweight Championship Fight. Morris is a wrestling prodigy who breaks from MMA to focus on college wrestling. He is a former FCFF Title holder and comes back to the cage to face Vancouver's Luis Iniguez on July 21st. Also on the card is the 170-pound FCFF Superfight, pitting the explosive Tommy Takemoto against Jose Rodriguez of Team Quest.

The two other FCFF Championship Fights taking place on July 21st will be for the 145-pound Championship, where Damon Jordan, the power-house slugger will face the super-star wrestler, Sean Soliz. This fight illustrates the classic battle of stand-up-verse-ground-game. In the 125-pound Flyweight Championship current FCFF Champ Adam King will take on John Heilman of Arsenal Combat.

FCFF FEMALE FIGHTS:
First, the exciting 185-pound female fighter Paige Grider of Team Quest returns to the FCFF to face Brianne Mills of GIRLS Gym in Portland. Grider has two wins in FCFF competition, the first came on June 26th in 2010 at Caged on the Coast 2. There she had an 18 second knockout over Gidgett Edwards in round number one. Then, at Caged on the Coast 5 she took the win over Emily Orman by a long fought unanimous decision victory. Injury has held her back from competing but she is now healthy. Grider first started in combat sports with Boxing and branched out to Muay Thai in 1999. She now currently trains at Team Quest in Tualatin under Scott McQuary, plus works with other MMA friends and mentors like Enoch Wilson at animalhouse, a mentor at Zanshin arts and Josh Burnham at whetstone. Grider will face mma newcomer Brianne Mills on July 21st. Mills has been training at GIRLS Gym since October of 2010. While this is her debut into MMA she comes to the sport with a strong athletic base. Mills was a four-year-lettering athlete in High School in Basketball. According to her coach, Sarah Oriza at GIRLS gym "Brianne knows how to impose her will. Combining her skill, power, and her love for the sport, she is a force to be reckoned with."

The next female fight on the Rumble @ The Roseland 64 Fight Card is the 125-pound fight between Kala Shivers (UTC) and Katie Howard (GIRLS Gym). Howard started training in MMA in January of 2010. Howard is a very well rounded, amazingly conditioned mixed martial artist and the FCFF is very excited to see what both GIRLS Gyms Fighters can bring to the cage. Under Katie's belt are a few local submission grappling tournaments, but will have her debut into mixed martial arts on July 21st, a very exciting time for fans and the fighters-alike.

The final female fight of the evening pits 135-pound fighter, Rachel Kollar against Amanda Loewen of Straight Blast Gym. Loewen will also be debuting into mma. Her Gym: Straight Blast Gym is a force to be reckoned with. Straight Blast Gym has produced many past FCFF Champions, who've since turned pro in MMA.
