Portland, OR - On Saturday, January 10th the Full Contact Fighting Federation's premier mixed martial arts (MMA) event, Rumble at the Roseland 41 will take place at the Roseland Theater in downtown Portland. David Lloyd, a Portland fire fighter for the past eight years, will enter the steel cage known as "The Slammer" for a bout at the 205 weight class division against James Harris of Mossyrock, Washington.

The Rumble at the Roseland event has 17 fights slated for the evening, featuring top talent from the big name MMA gyms. Highlighted on the card are two Title fights and one FCFF Superfight. For the 170lb Championship FCFF veteran Justin Nelson of Team Quest will come off a two year hiatus to try to take back his belt from Trent Weseman of Team Chaos. In the Heavyweight Division Andy Eichholz of St. Andrews Gym will take on relatively new rising star Shaun Mierjavadi of Impact JJ. The night will end with a highly anticipated FCFF Superfight, pitting two tremendously talented MMA fighters -who are both rising to the Professional level- Alex Alvarez of St. Andrews Gym against Jake Weldon of Team Quest. "This match is so even, that the experts can't even pick a favorite," said Kevin Keeney, FCFF co-owner and matchmaker.

It is also a comeback for Washougal, Washington's Jess Moore. We haven't seen Jess since August of 2008. Since then Jess has moved his training over to Team Quest. Jess is always up for a good fight and has one on his hands again on January 10th - he takes on Eugene, Oregon's undefeated Featherweight in Tyrone Angolia. On paper, this could be the fight of the night, and it could be rowdy because Jess usually brings all of Washougal to support him.

Derrick Russell, a great fighter and even better person, who was suppose to fight for the Heavyweight Championship on January 10, was diagnosed with leukemia about a week ago and will be fighting a more important battle in the upcoming months. Please keep Derrick in your thoughts and prayers.

The Portland Fire Fighter, David Lloyd is a devoted family man of three has been training at SAGA, a mixed martial arts gym in Portland for about a year. He got interested in the sport while watching a friend, Jason Sharp compete. He stepped into SAGA with a background in Wrestling. At Portland State University he wrestled, as well as going to State three times at Hillsboro High School and placing his senior year. This year Lloyd also won the absolute division (meaning no weight restrictions) in Las Vegas at the Grappler Quest Tournament. "Winning that tournament was great, there were guys from all over competing," said Lloyd. Also Lloyd won the absolute division in the Submission Wrestling League Tournament. "My training in MMA and firefighting fit together seamlessly. My job is physical and I stay in great shape with MMA training," said Lloyd.

"We at the FCFF see a great future for David. He has some great talent and we're really excited to see what he can do," says Kevin Keeney.

The FCFF's Rumble at the Roseland event is a launching pad for MMA athletes in Portland. The FCFF is the place where relatively new UFC fighters like Chris "The Crippler" Leben (The Ultimate Fighter - 1), Nathan "The Rock" Quarry (The Ultimate Fighter - 1), Ed "Short Fuse" Herman (The Ultimate Fighter -3), Josh "Bring the Pain" Haynes (The Ultimate Fighter -3) and Chael Sonnen (Team Quest and UFC Fighter) got their professional careers started.
