Eric Ramsey beats Jason Lambert by decision for the Pro 170 lb Belt

Prime Fighting took over the Clark County Event Center for their 2nd Pro/Am MMA event on September 28th, putting together an excellent card of 5 amateur and 7 professional matchups that included a number of fights for Prime Fighting belts. Despite the day long torrential downpour, the turnout was solid and the weather certainly did not dampen the spirits of the fight fans on hand who had plenty to cheer for. The main event was for the Prime Fighting Pro Welterweight Title and it was Eric "The Ram" Ramsey out of Flores Fitness who took home the belt with a unanimous decision win over Redneck Militia's Jason Lambert. Although Milani was able to land some nasty looking knees in a number of standup exchanges, it was Ramsey's consistent takedowns and top control on the ground that gave him all three rounds 30-27. With the win, Ramsey moves to 2-0 as a pro, while Lambert falls to 1-1.

The co-main event had Alive MMA's Nick Gilardi taking on Redneck Militia's Justin Milani in a 170 lb bout. Although the veteran Gilardi had not fought in nearly 3 years, he had no apparent ring rust getting a TKO win at 2:50 of the first round. After a couple exchanges standing, Gilardi nailed a takedown and went to work. He took Milani's back but was a bit high for the choke so switched to attacking the arm. Milani tried to slam his way out of it but Gilardi held on, then decided to forgo the submission and took Milani's back again, flattened him out and pounded away with strikes for the TKO stoppage.

The crowd favorite hands down was Progressive Jiu-jitsu's Chris De la Rocha making his pro debut, and he did not disappoint in his heavyweight bout with Team Ronin's Matt Howell. De la Rocha got an early takedown and standing over Howell, laid down punishing blow after punishing blow. Howell absorbed most of the shots until a succession of pinpoint punches to the head brought in referee Dave Hagen to stop the fight at 2:22 of the first. Afterwards, De la Rocha got the crowd to sing a rousing rendition of happy birthday to his grandmother who was in attendance.

Fisticuff Gym's Jason Novelli moved to 2-0 with an early KO of Cole Milani in a pro 155 lb fight. After setting up Milani with a few kicks to the body, Novelli displayed his lighting fast hands dropping Milani at just 20 seconds in for Knockout of the Night.

Jason Pittman of 503 West Coast Jiu-jitsu & Arsenal Combat Sports' Rob Gibbs threw down in a pro 205 lb fight that saw Pittman come out on top in his pro debut. The pair clinched up early with Gibbs controlling Pittman against the cage and playing the foot stomp game. They separated and then started trading punches and knees with Pittman beginning to land more. Pittman got Gibbs against the cage and connected with a couple knees to the head. Gibbs put his hand on the mat and Pittman may have gotten away with another to the head, but he quickly switched to his right leg and threw a few hard knees to the body that dropped Gibbs, finishing up with strikes for the TKO finish at at 3:41 Rd 1.

In a 145 lb contest with both fighters making their pro debuts, Zane Behrend repping Burke Muay Thai came out firing and connecting with straight punches against Team Quest's Brad Hannah. The fight went to the mat with Hannah on top but unable to do much damage before it went back to standing. There Behrend landed a huge knee that buckled Hannah, finishing with strikes for the TKO finish at 4:24 of the first round.

The Octagon MMA's Damon Jordan picked up his first pro win in a 145 lb fight with Impact Jiu-jitsu's Justin Mark. The pair had some good exchanges on the feet and scrambles on the ground but unfortunately towards the end of the first, Mark went to stand up and something popped in his knee and he was unable to continue giving Jordan the victory.

Fight of the Night belonged to a pair of amateurs in Jake Marshall and Mike Savage in a 140 lb Superfight. This high-paced, back and forth affair saw mad scrambles, reversals aplenty, and both fighters going for the finish. As the bout wore on Marshall began to exert his will and picked up the decision 30-27 x 2, 29-28.

NW Fightscene's Submission of the Night went to Sports Lab's Ryan Walker who had Tony Buffa locked in a tight looking guillotine from the bottom but decided to turn Buffa over and get the tap with a topside guillotine at 1:51 in round 1. Walker took home the Amatuer 170lb Superfight Belt with the win.

Team Dream's Deray Willis won the Amateur Heavyweight Superfight belt by besting 503 WCJJ's Paul Sims. Sims shot and got the takedown, but Willis took Sims neck and would not be denied in getting the tap to front choke at 1:56 of the first.

In the amateur 185 lb title fight, Gladiator MMA's Travis Trent first locked on an inverted armbar on Shalamar Washington that looked dangerous. When it didn't work, he got up, pushed Washington to the cage, scooped him up for a slam, and then took his back and sunk a rear naked choke at 1:39 of the first.

Opening the night's fights was Fisticuff Gym's Bryan Descloux getting a 2nd round TKO stoppage of Desert Dogs' David McManis in an amateur 145 lb bout.
