The Professional Fighting Association held a Pro/Am MMA event entitled "Champion vs Champion" on Friday, March 27th at North Idaho College in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. The show featured 9 MMA cage fights in front of a raucous sold-out crowd, which included 6 amateur and 3 pro bouts. #2 World Ranked Welterweight and UFC star, Jon Fitch, was present, signing autographs for fans beforehand.

(L-R) Jon Fitch, Trevor Prangley, Derek Cleveland, and Crazy Bob Cook

The Main Event was a P.F.A. Superfight between former Bodog Middleweight Champion and veteran of the UFC and Strikeforce, Trevor Prangley, and XFS Light Heavyweight Champion, Isidro "Chilo" Gonzalez. This was a homecoming of sorts for Prangley who wrestled for the North Idaho College Cardinals in the 90's, and he certainly did not disappoint the audience by obtaining victory via a first round Rear Naked Choke.

The P.F.A. Heavyweight Championship was between local Lion's Den standout and Sportfight Heavyweight Champion, Josh Queen, and U.M.M.A. Heavyweight Champion, Matt "The Attack" Kovacs who trains West of the Mountains with  Arlington Kickboxing Academy. This had an unfortunate ending for Queen who was taken down in just 12 seconds by a clean shot by Kovacs forcing referee Zach Lari to jump in as Kovacs went to finish Queen on the ground. This also unfortunately knocked Queen out of his Main Event matchup with DJ Linderman to have taken place at Sportfight 25 on April 3rd as he was medically suspended beyond the 7 days between the fights by the Idaho Athletic Commission doctor.

Lion's Den fighter Will Noland and Jason Koster out of 5th Element MMA made their pro debuts against each other in a rematch from their amateur days which was won by Noland in a serious brawl. This time it ended the same way with Noland getting a late 2nd round RNC for the victory. The undercard also had 6 amateur fights that provided for plenty of action, including the U.C.F. Bantamweight Title won by Joseph Cleveland, and the U.C.F. Featherweight Title won by Cody Cox. The PFA regularly holds fight events in the Coeur D' Alene and Spokane region and their next show will be at the Knitting Factory on May 8th in Spokane.
