NW Promotions & the Academy of Brian Johnson presented NW Fight Challenge X, Sat October 16th from South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia, WA. A total of 17 fights, 4 kickboxing & 13 MMA bouts, took place in front of the sold-out crowd and included a number of Title Fights and Superfights. This show has proven itself to be one of the best for amateur fights in the state and even rivals most pro shows in terms of competition, production, and excitement.

Drew Brokenshire, fighting out of AMC Pacific, succesfully defended his 145 lb MMA Championship Belt for the 2nd time by defeating a tough Erick Larson via Guillotine Choke midway through the 2nd round. For the 135 lb MMA Championship, Tyler Thomson once again made it look easy by taking out Jose Ramirez in the 1st Rd by guillotine choke.

Arjay Murphy beat Jeff Butterfield in a 135 lb MMA Superfight by 1st rd guillotine, while Nick Ryan took out Arvin Panlasigui via TKO in a 145 lb MMA Superfight that was over almost as soon as it had started. 

The bloodiest fight of the night was in the 155 lb MMA Championship between Lonya Champion and Aaron Martin that took a full 20 minutes to clean up. Champion apparently won the fight but it was later ruled a No Contest due to Martin's fight ending cut being caused by a defective cage. Champion's camp has filed an appeal and the sanctioning body for the show will be reviewing the video and will make a determination soon. Stay tuned for the final results and look for these two to rematch at the next NW Fight Challenge.

Fight of the Night was in the 155 lb Class-A Kickboxing Championship between Justin Harrington and Julien Martin. This fight was a rematch requested by Martin as he wanted to try his improved skills against Harrington who is mostly likely the top 155 lb amateur kickboxer in the NW. Martin almost made in it through the entire bout and landed his share of punches & kicks, but Harrington proved to be too much for him with the ref stepping in midway through the 5th round. Look for more from both of these guys in the future and rumor has it that Harrington will be making his Pro MMA debut soon
