Austin Springer and Northwest Championships presented Brawl at the Mall 5 January 28th to a full house of 400+ fans inside Gladiator MMA at the Vancouver Mall. 14 amateur bouts went down, including the main event for the 135 lb Championship belt between Alive MMA's Austin Hoover and Arsenal/RGA's John Heilman. This was the fight of the night as both fighters threw hard leather to the delight of the crowd. A cut over Heilman's eye swelled up and forced his corner to throw in the towel in the 5th round. Hoover becomes the new NWC Interim 135 lb Champion. The Submission of the Night went to Justin Albee of Team Knoxx for his 2 arm triangle choke/tee pee choke of Gladiator MMA's Clemente Bosch. KO of the Night belonged to Full Force MMA's Tyson Nation who took out Jake Conover of Intrepid MMA in the 2nd round.
