North American Challenge #23 - June 3rd, 2006 Squamish Tribal Rec Centre - North Vancouver, BC Photos by Mike Renouard A packed house at the Squamish Tribal Rec Centre, just across the Lion's Gate Bridge from downtown Vancouver, witnessed 14 excellent bouts of Kickboxing, Muay Thai, and Mixed Martial Arts. Highlights of the evening included an MMA war that had the crowd on its feet between Sarah Kaufman and Liz Poesner, and which ended with a solid KO by Kaufman in the 3rd round. The BC World Kickboxing Middleweight Title bout went five rounds before James Bannochie was declared the winner over Ali Pourmosa. And in an exciting conclusion to the night, the main event saw George Kassimatis deliver a wicked upkick to KO Ryan Machan and claim the NAC Welterweight MMA Belt. This long-running event was put on by Top Rank Martial Arts, with superb matchmaking by Mike Hammoud.
