Julian Erosa throws a kick in his fight against Ryan Mulvihill

King of the Cage "Search & Destroy" went down May 24th inside the Coeur d'Alene Casino with an action-packed card of 4 amateur and 6 pro MMA fights. The main event was a 170 lb battle between Spokane's own Jacob "The Darkness" Harkness taking on short notice replacement CJ "Siege" Marsh who stepped in for Koa Ramos. Marsh preferred to stay on the outside and look for openings, while dancing away from Harkness' shots. Harkness stayed aggressive and pressed the action in the first two rounds. In the third, Marsh found the opening he was looking for, knocking Harkness out cold at the 3:37 mark. With the victory, Marsh snaps a 2-fight losing streak while Harkness suffers a loss after coming in with 5 straight wins.

The Co-Main Event saw Knockout of the Night and yet another good performance from a fighter who likes to stand and bang in "Iron" Will Noland who took on NW veteran Justin Davis. The two fighters stood and traded with Noland showing great patience before finally letting fly with a head kick that dropped Davis to the canvas. The referee immediately jumped in and put an end to the 185 lb fight at 3:46 of the first round.

One of the most anticipated fights on the night was the third fight in the Julian Erosa vs Ryan Mulvihill trilogy. Erosa, fighting out of Yakima MMA, had beaten Spokane's Mulvihill twice before, both times by way of submission. When Erosa's original opponent in Daniel Swain had to pull out due to injury, Mulvihill jumped at the chance to get back at Erosa. In this fight, Mulvihill stayed away from the standup game of Erosa and worked hard to take Erosa to the mat. Erosa on his part did well to shuck off many of the attempts, and when he was taken down, he didn't stay there for long. Late in the 2nd, the fight went to the mat again and from his back, Erosa saw an opening and locked in a triangle choke for the submission finish at 4:19 of the round.

Submission of the night came from Adam Smith against Byron Sutton in a pro welterweight contest. The fight went to the canvas early with both fighters scrambling for position. Smith's ground game took over with him first going for a knee bar attempt and then later finishing with an Armbar with just one second left in the first round.

In a pro 195 lb catchweight bout, AKA's Jordan Currie submitted Taylor Roberts with an arm triangle at 3:41 of the first round.

One of the best fights of the night was between pros Joaquin Calderon and John Hale who had a back and forth affair at 135 lbs. Calderon got the win by finishing Hale with ground strikes at 4:30 of the 2nd round.

In amateur action, Jeff Pool scored at TKO win over Chase Campbell at the 2:45 mark of the first round.

AKA's Zane Douglass submitted Timmy Pepperdine with a rear naked at 1:36 of the first.

Brent McNeil won by submission getting Cameron Johnson to tap to a rear naked choke at 2:15 of round one.

Opening the night, amateur lightweights Grant Schwallie and Allen Messick had a close battle which was won by Schwallie via split decision.
