King of the Cage returned to the Coeur d'Alene Casino on Fri Feb 22nd with yet another sold-out Pro/Am MMA event that provided plenty of thrills for the crowd and was taped for later rebroadcast on MAV TV.
In the main event, hometown favorite and KOTC 205 lb Champion Trevor Prangley took on late replacement Justin Davis after original opponent Brandon Anderson pulled out due to injury. Prangley had little trouble in this fight and once it hit the mat, Prangley calmly worked Davis into position and got him to tap to kimura at 2:54 of the first round. Prangley is scheduled to fight again on April 13th when he takes on Dan Molina at King of the Cage "Fighting Legends" in Oroville CA. Also on that card, David "Tank" Abbott returns to the cage against Ruben Villareal.
The Co-main event was a pro 160 lb catchweight bout between "Insane" Dave Courchaine and Rex Payne. After a good exchange from both fighters, it was Courchaine ending the fight early, dropping Payne with a big right hand, letting Payne get up and then following up with a huge knee as Payne shot in that sent him to the canvas for good at just 30 seconds into the contest.
In a pro 125 lb bout, AKA's Zach Lari subbed Elliott Gilbert with by Triangle Choke/Armbar at just 59 seconds into the fight.
Jacob Harkness racked up another win on the King of the Cage stage by finishing Levi Peaslee via kimura late in the first round of their pro 170 lb contest.
In a pro 145 lb bout, the always dangerous Ryan 'The Mongoose' Mulvihill submitted a tough Jordan Cook with a rear naked choke at 3:36 of the 2nd round.
Daniel Swain followed up his recent win at Pancrase in Japan with a 1st round TKO victory over Michael Craig in pro featherweight contest.
4 amateur bouts opened the show and all 4 went to decision with Solomon Jones, Jason Grey, Andrew Ramm, & Reid Hazelbaker topping their respective opponents.
King of the Cage will return to the CDA Casino June 14th.
