IFL World Team Semi Finals - November 2nd, 2006 Memorial Coliseum - Portland, Oregon Written by Chris Hoernlein, Photos by Mike Renouard The IFL returned to Portland's Memorial Coliseum for the World Team Championships Semi-Finals. Over 7000 people were in attendance to witness the biggest MMA event the Northwest has seen yet. The night started with IFL founders, Kurt Otto and Gareb Shamus, announcing two new IFL teams: The Northern California Lions coached by Ken Shamrock, and The British Bulldogs coached by Ian Freeman.
Then began the fights. Matt Lindland's Wolfpack gave the crowd its money's worth by taking the win 3-2 over Bas Rutten's Anacondas. They advanced to the Finals December 28th where they'll meet Pat Miletich's Silverbacks who took out Carlos Newton's Dragons 4-1. The Superfights saw a tough Mike Whitehead overpower Mark Kerr, while the two Brazilians provided a show until Allan Goes dropped Daniel Gracie to the mat and swooped in for the finish.
