1600
fans were on hand for another excellent night of Pro
Boxing at Moe
Smith's House Of Fury at the Coeur
D'Alene Casino June 3rd. Hometown favorite, "Fabulous"
Favio Medina, retained his WBC US
Welterweight Title by outpointing Damian Frias
of Miami, FL over 10 rounds. Medina was knocked down in
the first but awoke in the third round controlling the
final 8 stanzas for the Unanimous Decision.
In
the Semi-Main Event, Newman Lake's own Skyler Anderson
also was knocked down, in the fifth round, but came back
up strong and opened up a cut on Mobile, Alabama's Bobby O'Bannon
that forced a doctor stoppage at the end of 6 rounds. The
fight went to the scorecards and Anderson was awarded the
Unanimous Decision.
On
the undercard, Shawn Hawk
out of Sioux Falls beat Anthony Greenidge of Brooklyn by
Technical Unanimous Decision. This fight was a real battle
that ended via an accidental head butt that
stopped the contest in the 8th round and sent it to the
scorecards. Paul Mpendo
of Eugene beat Spokane's Dewey
Welliver by Unanimous Decision in a 6 round contest at 154
pounds. The night opened with a pair of Knockouts as Chris
Green of Denver stopped Emerson Chasing Bear in the 3rd
round, while Spokane's Kaleb Fisher KO'd David Quartz late
in the first round.
