155
lb Champ Clint Patterson wins via 2nd Rd TKO
Split Decision Entertainment
presented Fight Night XI: Stratagem on Nov 13th at Club
Zoo in Vancouver, WA with 17 fights taking place,
including 3 title fights. Club Zoo packs them in with crazy MMA fans every time Split Decision Entertainment puts together a fight card and Fight Night XI
"Stratagem" was no different. You better get your ticket
early for the Zoo because they always sell to capacity and your always in for an array of Knockouts, Submissions and all out
war's.
The main event for the 170 lb belt was a fight between two
tough up and comers in the NW that was slated to be a war
but wound up being decided in just 27 seconds. Arsenal
Combat's Zack Hector choked out slugger Ryan Truitt from 503 West coast Jiu Jitsu, quick and decisively with a guillotine.
Hector is proving he is one tough task in the 170lb division and it will take a good game plan
for future challengers to be able to take the belt from the champ.
FCFF 155lb champ and 503 WCJJ fighter Clint Patterson is stacking up some bling bling after his battle with Esteban Salazar from Lights Out
MMA netted him the Split Decision Entertainment
Lightweight belt. Patterson was relentlessly on the offensive putting Salazar in some bad spots
& threatened to end it in the first; but Salazar hung in and survived to see
another round. The second started like the first with Patterson controlling Esteban and pushing the pace of the fight until referee Christopher Cope saw it time to save Salazar and stop the fight @ 1:46
of the 2nd, earning Clint one more title to take home and hang on his wall.
503 WCJJ must be putting something in the water at the gym because the
recently formed NW fight team is quickly proving themselves a force in the NW MMA circuit, by strong wins and tough fighters. One of those fighters
is named Chris Fish who had an impressive win over
Scorpion's Den fighter Don Wheeler to win the 135lb
Belt.
Fish and Wheeler came out taking some time to feel each other out
and then bam! the 135 pound scrappers turned the switch
on. However, at some point in their scrap, Wheeler hurt his rib and
verbally submitted to strikes at 1:04 in the second.
My choice for "Fight of the Night" was a back and forth battle between United Training
Center's Daniel Trapp and 503 WCJJ's Chris Kidby. Kidby went after the takedown and kept putting Trapp on his butt, controlling the first round. But Trapp was never far behind and as Kidby started to gas in the third, Trapp capitalized and forced the ref to stop the fight at 1:35.
KO of the night went to a beautiful overhand right delivered by Shane Riley square on the jaw of David Lee Wixon that dropped Wixon in 31 seconds. This Knockout
couldn't have been more perfect for a highlight reel type
finish and it will definitely have Riley's future
opponent's thinking-chin down!
Submission of the night came by way of Rear Naked Choke applied by Portland fighter Jason Eaton on Gladiator
MMA's Chad Walker. Eaton tightens the choke and sealed the deal in 38 seconds.
Fight Night 12 "Winter Whoopins" will be held in Kelso Washington on Dec 4 @ Hardtails.
One week later, Dec 11, Fight Night 13 "Seasons Beatings" is scheduled to go down back at Club Zoo in
Vancouver... cya there!
