Fight
Night Entertainment (FNE) returned to the Nooksack
River Casino
located 15 miles east of Bellingham on the Mt Baker
Highway for an outdoor MMA show on August 27th. This was
the promotion's 10th show since starting out in Nov of '08
and its obvious to see that they are evolving in the right
direction with solid production, great lighting, smokin'
hot ring girls, and well-matched fights that delivers to
fight fans all the excitement that live MMA has to offer.
For
this particular show, 5 amateur and 4 pro bouts took
place, including the first Pro belt that FNE has awarded.
It was in the 135 lb weight class and was also the fight
of the night as Omar Avelar & Freddy Arteaga threw
down for 25 minutes in a war that had the crowd on its
feet. Avelar definitely won the fight controlling and
punishing Arteaga much of the bout, but Arteaga had no
quit in him and showed enormous heart as he continued to
battle to the very end. A standing ovation went to both
fighters as the final bell sounded & both deserve high
praise for their efforts.

in Anacortes, WA with Fight Night "Round XI"
