Region's Emerging 170-pounders Face-off in Sept 6th Main Event

Press Release from The Full Contact Fighting Federation

Grand Ronde, OR - On Saturday, September 6th the FCFF will take over the Spirit Mountain Casino events center for the second installment of the "Battle of the Mountain" event. The "Main Event" will feature two local fighters who have risen to stardom fighting in the Pacific Northwest (SEE MORE BELOW). There will also be three emotional and dynamic FCFF Amateur Championship fights in the Heavyweight, Welterweight (170LB) and Flyweight (125LB) Divisions, along with a number of undercard fights featuring three highly anticipated female match-ups. The FCFF always brings edge-of-your-seat action into the famed 25-foot steel cage, known to fight fans as "The Slammer!" Doors open at 7pm, fights will begin at 8pm.

The Pro Fight "Main Event" will go down at the end of the night between two hungry, emerging MMA stars: Ben Egli from Cross Fit PAW and Rod Jaques from Albany, Oregon. This welterweight fight will clash the region's best 170-pounders and anything could happen. Ben Egli is hoping to add to his undefeated 2-0 pro career that began in November of 2013. In his debut fight he took on Raven Guice and won via a round one triangle choke submission in under one minute of fighting. In April he re-entered the cage in Vancouver, Washington for "Main Event Sports Productions" and took down Josh Snodgrass in round one via another triangle choke.

Previously to his pro career, Egli dominated the amateur circuit with nine wins and two title belts. He only lost to one man in his entire career thus far: John Barlett, who was a past FCFF Champion. His most notable amateur win was for the FCFF's Welterweight Championship Title at Rumble @ The Roseland 57 in 2011; there he took down Jason Novelli (fight favorite) via a dramatic final round rear naked choke. He defended that belt again at Rumble 59 against Billy Denny who was extremely tough and experienced. "No fighter should ever count Ben down and out. I've seen him execute great jiu-jitsu against our very best and come out on top in the final rounds. He has heart. He's a true champion and finds a way to win," explained Kevin Keeney the FCFF's match-maker and co-owner.

Ben Egli will face his toughest opponent to date: Rod Jaques, who has something to prove. It's his Pro Fight debut and a do-or-die night for him as he sets the tone for his pro career on September 6th. Jaques brings to the cage his very successful run as an amateur that includes three Championship Titles from the FCFF and the United Combat Sports organizations. Jaques first took home a Championship belt at the FCFF's Rumble @ The Roseland 73 event. There he battled the Jake Smith and won via a decision victory. Later, he defended that belt against Daniel Dieringer at Rumble @ The Roseland 77. He had one last amateur fight at the "WFC 25 - Brawl at the Beach" event in July to wrap up his 12 win amateur record; now he’s eyeing his first pro fight victory on September 6th.
