ESPN2's Friday Night Fights series returns to the Little Creek Casino in Shelton WA this summer for two shows on July 11th and August 1st, both promising to be great events for NW fight fans.
Friday Night Fights first stop at the casino's Skookum Creek Event Center will be Friday, July 11th with two bouts having been announced. In the main event, two once-beaten lightweights - Armenian-born Art Hovhannisyan (17-1-2, 9 KO's) & Peruvian Jonathan Maicelo (20-1, 12 KOs) - will battle it out in a 10-rounder. The Co-Main is of more interest locally as Tacoma's own Mike Gavronski (14-0-1, 10 KOs) puts his unbeaten status on the line when he takes on Tureano Johnson (14-1, 10 KOs) in a 10-round Middleweight affair. Tickets are on sale now through the casino's website (little-creek.com/entertainment) and the event is being promoted by Gary Shaw Productions. Doors will open at 4 PM PT, first bout at 5 PM PT.
Friday Night Fights will be back at the casino on Friday, August 1st with the main event featuring a Light Heavyweight 12-round bout between Thomas "Top Dog" Williams Jr (17-0, 12 KOs) and Gabriel Campillo (23-6-1, 10 KOs). Williams Jr fought at the Little Creek Casino last January for ESPN Friday Night Fights and KO'd his opponent at the end of a wild first round. The Co-main Event will have former Olympian Javier Molina (14-1, 6 KOs) take on an opponent to be announced in a 10 round welterweight fight. Tickets have yet to go on sale for this show being promoted by Goossen Tutor.
