"Dominance"
was introduced to the NW MMA scene last night as Sergio De
Silva and the Tri-Cities
MMA
crew presented their inaugural show in the Benton County
Fairgrounds to an enthusiastic crowd. 10 Amateur MMA bouts
plus one Novice Kickboxing matchup filled out this first
card, and every fight was entertaining leading up to the 2
Title bouts that rounded out the evening.
For
the Lightweight Title, Yakima MMA's Tyson Johnson and Jamason Hensley
of Vancouver, WA's Xtreme Couture went nearly two full
rounds in back and forth action. The fight ended with
Johnson dropping Hensley in an exchange and then finishing
him on the ground with some hard shots just 2 secs before
the bell.
 
The
Featherweight belt went to Xtreme Couture's Austin
Springer who weathered a tight Triangle choke attempt in
the 1st round by Troy Berglund and then came out hard in
the 2nd to take out Berglund with his fists.
