Up for grabs were the vacant 185 and 155 belts. A filled house of just over 1400 fans took part in what is sure to become an event to remember at EWU. Thank you to all the fighters and staff that made this event possible. For more information about Dobattle, contact Dustin Waterbly at 509-481-5517 or www.dobattle.org

Match 1:
170 Isaac Wright, Hit Pit MMA, 0-1 vs. Tristan Crabtree, TJP, 1-4
This fight was fast paced as both men threw some leather standing up. Crabtree was able to get a takedown into guard only to be reversed by Wright. Back up to the feet they went and this time Wright tried a standing guillotine. They go back to the ground and Crabtree is too fast and is able to get a RNC after a quick transition to Wright's back. Crabtree by RNC in round 1

Match 2:
145 Eddie Russell, Hit Pit MMA, 0-0 vs. 138 Andrew Lawrence, USAF, 2-0
This was the fight of the night as both men came out and put on a wrestling clinic. Russell did not waste any time in trying to get it to the ground, but Lawrence stayed balanced against the cage. Eventually Russell is able to ground his opponent but it doesn't last, but men scramble and get back to their feet. Neither fighter throws too many punches standing up. A little GnP, but mainly they make it a super fast paced wrestling match. After 3 rounds of solid action, the judges announce a split decision for Eddie Russell. Fantastic Fight! Russell by split Dec

Match 3:
Kickboxing match between Cody Reese and Torin Anderson.
Good fight that ends quickly as Anderson seems to take a low blow and cannot continue. Bummer ending to an aggressive fight.

Match 4:
180 Matt Brown, Hit Pit MMA, 0-0 vs. Jordan Tibbetts, IND, 1-1
Both fighters come out throwing. Brown gets a little better of the exchange and transitions to a guillotine as Tibbetts drops his head. Brown bull dogs his way to the ground and finishes the choke from mount.
Brown by mounted guillotine round 1.

Match 5:
Boxing Exhibition between Jerrod Fletcher and Brian Lively. These guys both train at Spokane Boxing and they did not disappoint. Anybody who thought they were going to see a casual sparring match was in for a thunderous surprise as both these fighters came out ready to brawl. Great footwork and lots of action as neither fighter gave an inch. Both landed some clean shots with Lively working his long reach and attacking both body and head. Fletcher would adjust and seemed to be willing to walk through the punches to get to his target. 3 rounds end in a draw (exhibition). Both of these men are fighters to watch. If they go this hard against training partners, opponents better be weary.

Match 6:
145 Title Fight for Vacant 145 Belt
Jerome Jones, TKO, 6-2 vs. Abe Jones, Team Ironman, 4-2
The announcer jokes that this is the battle of the Jones and the crowd starts getting behind both fighters. Abe Jones has come out of semi-retirement to take this bout on less than a week's notice. Both fighters come out hesitant as this is a classic striker vs. grappler matchup. Abe continues to try and get Jerome to the ground but only has mild success at first. Eventually he is able to get his opponent ground and even gets mount for a moment, but Jerome is having none of it. He quickly scrambles and gets back to his feet. Abe is working hard to get the fight back to the ground, this ensues for multiple rounds. Jerome is starting to pick up the pace and Abe is winded.
Jerome Jones becomes the 145 title holder def. Abe Jones by exhaustion in round 4.

Match 7:
185 Title Fight for Vacant 185 Belt
Jordan Currie, Legacy MMA, 9-1 vs. Josh Keele, Hit Pit MMA, 3-2
Both these fighters are huge for this weight. Keele opens up with strikes on the feet, landing a few as Currie goes for a takedown. Curries switches angles and is able to get top position. He quickly passes to side control and uses some GnP. Keele is covering up well, but Currie is still moving forward trying for mount. He gets it and eventually secures a RNC after Keele gives up his back.
Jordan Currie becomes the 185 title holder def. Josh Keele by RNC in round 1.
