classes, Tara LaRosa and Lisa Ward. Ward recently received an invitation to compete at the American qualifier for Abu Dhabi. LaRosa, who recently won a hard fought battle against Amanda Buckner, was on hand to remind fight fans to visit www.Bodogfight.com to view her fight with Buckner and gather as many votes for her for a chance to win $50k as Bodog fighter of the night. Bout 1 - Welterweight Adrian Elizalde (Yakima MMA/Team Guerin) defeated Mike Hanks (IND, Spokane) by KO (kick) at 21s Rd 2. These two spent most of the 1st round in a greco-clinch. In the 2nd they exchanged a few legs kicks before throwing simultaneous head kicks. The 5'7" Elizalde caught the 5'11" Hanks squarely in the jaw and laid him out cold to win the fight. Bout 2 - Super HeavyWeight Will Hammond (274 lbs. White Buffalo Warriors, Kirkland) defeated Josh Deatherage (270 lbs. IND, Tacoma) by TKO (punches) 16s Rd 1 Hammond completely overwhelmed his opponent. 'Nough said. Bout 4 - Featherweight Sean Villalva (Robertson KB, Tacoma) defeated Derek Nichols (Jackknife Vale Tudo, Castle Rock) by tapout (back injury) in Rd 1 Bout 5 - Welterweight Pete Grey (United Fight Team, Lacey) defeated Brennan Deveraux (White Buffalo Warriors, Kirkland) by tapout (punches) at 2:39 Rd 1 Bout 6 - Middleweight Nate Burgess (Victory Athletics, Olympia) defeated Chris Liles (IND, Seattle) by TKO (punches) late in Rd 1 Liles looked to have plenty more fight in him, but he was clearly stuck mounted against the cage and not going anywhere promiting the referee to stop the bout. Bout 7 - Featherweight Jesse Brock (Twisted Genetiks, Boise ID) defeated Zach Skinner (Victory Athletics, Tenino) by TKO (punches) late in Rd 2 Brock showed superior wrestling ability to control Skinner from start to finish. The referee stepped in after Skinner was unable to get loose from Brock's back mount, or defend the repeated punches that came with it. Bout 8 - Featherweight Clint Czecezok (Victory Athletics, Puyallup) defeated Ryan Beamer (Jackknife Vale Tudo, Castle Rock) by tapout (arm-bar) at 38s Rd 1 Short and sweet: one guy beat another quickly, got his hand raised, put his street clothes back on and started partying with friends and fight fans. Bout 9 - Welterweight Nathaniel Ridley (IND, Olympia) defeated Tyler Anderson (US Army, Ft Lewis) by tapout (RNC) 51s Rd 2 This was a back and forth fight with both showing well rounded skills. Anderson missed a throw and exposed his back, Ridley didn't miss the opportunity to end the fight with a choke. Bout 10 - Lightweight Brian McCarver (Robertson KB, Tacoma) defeated Jeff Thorp (Victory Athletics, Puyallup) by KO (punches) 2:22 Rd 2 McCarver controlled the entire first round with excellent wrestling. He had Thorp mounted early in the second, but Jeff defended for quite a while. A couple punches finally found their mark and the next three left Thorp out cold. Bout 11 - Featherweight Scott Jorgensen (Twisted Genetiks, Boise ID) defeated Apaullo Martinez (Yakima MMA) by tapout (arm bar) at 1:32 Rd 3. Jorgensen had his way with Martinez showing incredible strength and balance with his grappling. Apaullo defended as best he could, fending off a majority of what Scott threw at him, but left his arm exposed. He refused to tap for several seconds after being caught, and finally gave in only when Jorgensen locked Apollo's wrist deep in his armpit and arched into the hold. Bout 12 - Heavyweight Matt Kovacs (IND, Tacoma) defeated Anthony Hugo (Team Patterson, Onalaska) by TKO (punches) 2:53 Rd 1 Hugo showed surprising hand speed and had a reach advantage on Kovac, but could not match his strength getting caught against the fence and felled with punches. Bout 13 - Welterweight Deon Buhl (Robertson KB, Tacoma) defeated Anthony Nagle (IND, Ft Lewis) by TKO (punches) at 2:34 Rd 2 Nagle was mounted and pounded on for at least half of the first round. He fell into the same position again in the second and could only cover up as Buhl pistoned punches at...and through...his defense until the referee ended the fight. QUADRUPLE MAIN EVENT Bout 14 - USA MMA Welterweight 170lbs. Title (vacant) Dean Henderson (Solier KB/MMA) defeated Justin Larsson (Twin Dragons, Aberdeen) by TKO (punches) at 1:35 Rd 2. Larsson closed Henderson's left eye in an early barrage only to be reversed and served some of the same moments later. Henderson showed his superior grappling securing his opponent's back and catching the choke halfway through the second round. Bout 15 - USA MMA Middleweight 185lbs. Title (vacant) Steve Storwick (Robertson KB, Tacoma) defeated Rolando Dominique (IND, Fairbanks, AK) by arm bar at 38s Rd 2 The Alaskan expended quite a bit of energy before the fight had even begun, but was able to redirect it and unloaded on Storwick through most of the first round. Storwick took home the title early in the second catching a tiring Dominique from guard. Bout 16 - USA MMA Heavyweight 265lbs. Title Champion Mychal 'BOLO' Clark (221 lbs, Team Vicious, Seattle) defeated Travis Bell (240 lbs, Victory Athletics, Rochester) by KO (up-kick) at 1:15 Rd 1 Clark showed his crisp striking early prompting Bell, a well versed grappler, to work for the takedown. Bell had trouble controlling the champion and got caught with the up-kick trying to swing past Clark's legs to sidemount. Bout 17 - USA MMA Lightweight 155lbs Title (vacant) J.J. Mix (Yakima MMA) defeated Jeramy Burnett (Solier KB/MMA) by verbal submission (inability to see) at 1:52 Rd 2 After a relatively even first round, Mix had already opened a cut above his opponent's right eye. Mix added another gash above the left eye in the 2nd with a knee from the clinch prompting Burnett to call it a night as blood ruined what little vision he had left. Burnett is a warrior and will be back soon. Mix, who fought a 5-round WW title bout to a draw the previous weekend, thanked his trainer and fight team for helping him cut 13 pounds the week of this fight.
