OK people, Mixed Martial Arts is exploding in 2007 and DesertBrawl Civil War will create havoc in Bend Oregon on March 10 at the Midtown Rink, Rock and Roll. The fights are set, and now it's up to fate to see what happens on Saturday when JT Taylor's creation takes place and the gladiators go to war for top contender ship in the DesertBrawl Ranks. Initially faced with a title shot, Desert Dog fighter Hopi "Ninja" Jenkins (2-1) will have to rearrange his game plan to fight a wrestler from Team Elite out of Corvallis Oregon named John Henry (3-1). DB Champ Derek Jones pulled a bicep muscle, and had to pull out of the fight; but Hopi had to fight so JT made some calls and got him a scrap. Fighter John Henry took the fight and brings to the table a very accomplished wrestling back ground and a very determined spirit. He has great ground dominance and throws hard leather, so to this the Ninja will have to be elusive and adapt to the style of Henry. However, Jenkins has a great ability to flow and submit, and has been consistently training with some of the best submission experts in the Northwest. Look for Henry to try to take it to Jenkins and Jenkins to keep him busy with submission defense as these two Battle for top contention in the amateur middleweight division. 

Dropping a weight class to the Welterweight division, fighters Chris Branch (4-1) and Mike Pierce (3-0) will be battling for the top dog position in the amateur ranks, and hoping to take home the ever fashionable DesertBrawl title belt. Pierce comes from Team Braveheart the newly formed gym out of Beaverton Oregon that has been making big noise with their brand new state of the art MMA training facility. Branch is a tough independent fighter that has been in more than a few tough fights. This fight will show some very tough amateurs, and both fighters will be very well trained and ready to prove their will in the DB octagon. 

Desert Dog fighter Wes Blood (3-2) will prove he's ready for a title shot as he faces California native Joshua Lagrande (4-1). Joshua has great stand up and will be stepping into the DB cage for the first time against Mr. Blood who has a great heart and ability to get down and compete when the cage door shuts. Both fighters are strong and trained so look for this to be a great fight. This will be the Spaniard's Special Pick of the Night because this fight has crowd favorite written all over it. 

In Heavy weight action fighters Nick Braker (3-2-1) and Rudy Gonzales (2-0) are set to tangle on Saturday. Gonzales trains with the Desert Dog Fight Team and has great boxing skills. He is learning ground fast and will face his toughest opponent in Team Saga fighter Nick Braker. Braker has seen a lot of action and will be ready to bang; his last fight was a bit controversial as he would have beaten Team Quest fighter Josh Bennett by decision but he was docked for low blows and lost a decision. Both of these men can produce knockout power and both can control on the ground so we will see who can implement their game first. 

The fights will be great and the fighters will be ready.
