Conquest of the Cage, presented by Rick Little's ExciteFight promotion, returned to the Northern Quest Resort and Casino just outside Spokane WA on November 15 for a packed card of 9 amateur and 5 professinal MMA contests, featuring fighters from around the Inland NW and beyond. In the main event, a pro lightweight showdown between Ethan Rhoades and Jeff Pool ended with Rhoades getting the win via an armbar submission midway through the first round. Rhoades is now 2-0 as a pro, while Pool loses in his pro debut.
In the co-main event, the women's amateur bantamweight fight between Legacy MMA's Gillian Noll and Sikjitsu's Alyse Honnold was an entertaining battle that went the distance. It was all Noll early on, but Honnold came back later on and turned it into a good fight. In the end, all three judges saw it for Noll 30-27, 29-28, 29-28.
Warrior Camp's Abe Jones won his pro debut with standing guillotine choke of Sikjitsu's Will Comstock late in the first round of their 155 lb contest.
In a pro 185 lb contest, Pasco WA's Jack Anderson blasted Chris Ensley in the opening exchange and followed up on the ground forcing referee Anthony Hamlett to jump in, giving Anderson the TKO win at 7 seconds in. It was the 2nd fight for Ensley in 48 hours, having lost via 1st round TKO to Jacob Harkness at the King of Cage show in Worley ID on November 13th.
Sikjitsu's Eric Higaonna won his pro debut by submitting Brandon Sly with a 1st round rear naked choke in their 135 lb matchup. Sly falls to 1-1 as a pro with the loss.
In the lightweight division, Nathan Thompson subbed Donald Gouge via 1st round keylock submission to remain undefeated as a pro at 3-0.
The only title fight on the night was for the ExciteFight Amateur 205 lb belt and it was Dan Bolen taking it home by KO'ing Chris Schell just 18 seconds in.
Daniel Spitz came out on top in amateur heavyweight bout with Theo Doukas when Doukas' knee gave out early in the third round.
Another stoppage due to injury came in the high-paced amateur 135 lb fight between Marcos Lopez and Cody Simpkins, as Simpkins broke his hand in the 1st and the cageside doctor wouldn't allow Simpkins to continue giving Lopez the TKO win.
In an amateur women's 135 lb fight, Anjela Pink finished Becky Walters via standing choke at 1:00 into the bout.
In an amateur 180 lb catchweight bout, TJ Kurylo submitted Adrian Garcia with a 1st round rear naked choke.
Amateur lightweight Calvin Green got a tap from Gavin Bacon to rear naked choke at 2:03 of the first round.
In the amateur 155 lb division, Brent McNeil beat Matt Main by way of 2nd round submission. McNeil first looked to have Main finished with an armbar, but then transitioned to a fight-ending triangle choke at the 2:20 mark.
Opening the fights at the Northern Lights Casino, amatuer featherweight Tyler Popkin got Mike Barrett to tap out to an Armbar at 2:57 of the 2nd round.
