Lyle Beerbohm en route to a 1st Rd TKO of Victor Estrada in the main event
Rick Little's ExciteFight presented the latest Conquest of the Cage at the Northern Quest Casino on July 20th in a special outdoor summer event that saw 6 pro and 8 amateur fights. Special appearances were made by UFC fighters Urijah Faber and Spokane's own Mike Chiesa. The UFC's Dana White was on hand before the fights but had pressing business and had to leave early.
In the main event, Spokane's Lyle "Fancy Pants" Beerbohm took care of business in a big way in a grudge match with Victor Estrada by finishing him with some monster knees and punches in the first round. After the fight, Estrada was taken to the hospital in the waiting ambulance to check his ribs. Beerbohm rebounds from his recent loss at WSOF3 to Jacob Volkman and has 7 wins in his last 8 fights.
In the Co-main Event, Elizabeth Phllips picked up her first pro win with a 3rd round TKO of Stevie Vanassche.
In other pro action, Team Execution's Austin Arnett secured a 1st round guillotine choke on Daniel Atnip. After the fight, Atnip announced on facebook his retirement from fighting to concentrate on coaching his fighters in the Irish Hit Squad.
CAN-USA Fight Team's Clinton Teeples scored a 2nd round TKO over Will Comstock.
Adam Smith submitted Roy Bradshaw with a 1st round armbar.
Sikjitsu's Josh Gow remains undefeated as a pro by securing a 1st round rear naked choke on Daniel Zarate.
Plenty of action came from the preliminary amateur card, including another quick TKO win from rising star Jamelle Jones.
Adam Clark and Chris Green went the distance with Clark getting the unanimous decision, all judges seeing it 29-28.
Nathan Thompson got a slick submission win over Keith Wolf with a straight armlock.
