Coastal Brawl - June 4th, 2010

The inaugural Coastal Brawl was held June 4th in Astoria, OR with a total of 12 amateur MMA matchups taking place, 3 of them title fights, as well as a special guest appearance by WEC fighter Dave Jansen. The event featured plenty of hard-hitting action that included knockouts a plenty and saw fighters representing such teams as Desert Dogs, Alive MMA, Redneck Militia, Mathers MMA, Arsenal Combat Sports, Lights Out, Team Quest plus a few independents as well. For the 145 lb belt, local fighter Luke Newberry of Mathers MMA knocked out Don Wheeler mid-way through the 2nd round in a crowd pleasing battle. The welterweight championship had Arsenal's Erick Ramsey KO Jared Haller at just 23 seconds into their fight. Finally, in the main event, Alive MMA's Damion Martindale looked impressive in his 2nd round TKO stoppage of Arsenal's Olin Howlett, retaining his Heavyweight Title.
