Cage
Wars MMA held their 5th "Knockout at the Nile"
in the ballroom at the Nile Shrine Temple just North of
Seattle. This is a great place to see a show with the
sold-out crowd close in to the action, great lighting and
sound system, beer garden with microbrews from Ellersick
Brewing of Lynnwood, some cool fight apparel from Sal at
Hooligan Inc, and of course an entire evening of
solid amateur fights. 14
bouts took place including 2 Cage Wars MMA title fights.
In the first of these, AMC's Drew Brokenshire took on C3's
Alex Zuniga for the CageWars 145 lb Muay Thai
Championship. The fight was
an exciting matchup between two highly skilled and highly
conditioned athletes, and in the end it went the five
rounds with all 3 judges giving the nod to Brokenshire.  
In
the night's finale, Middleweight Champion Kade Lindstrom
out of C3 took on Full Circle Fight Club's Carl Edwards
with his Kade's belt on the line. The crowd was pretty
evenly split between the two with both fighters getting
huge roars of appreciation as they made their walkouts,
and then getting even bigger crowd cheers by their
performances in the ring. This was a razor close fight and after 5
rounds that never saw a slowdown in pace, Lindstrom got 2
of the 3 judges to see it his way for the Split Decision
victory.
