Halquist Productions held their 12th CageSport MMA event on Sat Oct 2nd at the Emerald Queen Casino and it was another night of fantastic All-Pro MMA action.

The Main Event was for CageSport Heavyweight Championship and featured Champion Matt Kovacs out of Arlington Kickboxing Academy defending his title against 503 West Coast Jiu Jitsu's Nick Braker. Kovacs was clearly the hometown favorite, but Braker fans made sure everyone knew they were there! It was a back and forth battle for the first round. Kovacs showed his boxing skills and Braker showed that he could take a punch! The fighters came out for the second round with a little more of the same. Braker had several takedowns in the first and few more in the 2nd, the last one ending with Kovacs on the bottom and put to sleep via a Head and Arm Choke with just 10 seconds left in the round! Now that Braker is the champ,  Cagesport may need two cages, one for fighting and another for his fans!

In the Co-main Event, Team Quest's Ryan Healy took on Eddie Peleczynski fighting out of Utah. This Lightweight matchup was between two very seasoned fighters with a combined total of over 30 pro fights. The fight had numerous takedowns and submission attempts from both fighters. Healy defended at least a half dozen rear naked choke attempts, with a couple being exciting standing/riding chokes. Both fighters were clearly beat up after the fight. In the end, Healy pulled out the unanimous decision with all judges scoring it 29-28. 

In the 140 lb Female Featured Fight, Birthday girl Stephanie Webber defeated Keri Scarr by Arm Bar at 1:11 of the first round to get her first pro win. She has now proven to herself and all of her fans that she is ready for the pros!
