Halquist
Productions
presented CageSport MMA 5 at the Emerald Queen Casino
on July 25th to a full house of fight fans. In the Main
Event, Mike Hayes of the White Buffalo Warriors weathered
a first round onslaught by Team Quest's Daniel Krug,
escaping out of a tight Rear Naked Choke and staving off
an armbar attempt at the end of the round. Krug
unfortunately injured himself in the process and was
unable to continue giving the victory to Hayes. After the
fight, DJ Linderman entered into the cage and both
Linderman and Hayes expressed an interest in fighting in a
rematch (Linderman took home a Unanimous Decision win in
May of this year in their first meeting). Promoter Brian
Halquist obliged by announcing that Linderman and Hayes
would fight for the CageSport Heavyweight Title at an
upcoming CageSport event.
The
Co-main Event was between Team Quest's Nathan Coy and JT
Taylor who is head of the Desert Dogs camp in Bend, OR. When the bell rang, both came
out for the kill and for the next 3 and half minutes
plenty of action ensued until Coy connected square,
dropping Taylor and finishing him on the ground. The slam
of the night went to DJ Linderman (roughly 240 pounds) who
executed a beauty by lifting up the 280 pound Roland
Graham over his head and calmly depositing him to the
canvas with a resounding boom to delight of the crowd.
Linderman worked Graham on the ground for a few moments
before Graham had enough and submitted. 6 other exciting
bouts also took place this evening on the undercard.
Halquist
Productions hold their next event at the Emerald Queen
Casino on August 29th with their long running Pro Boxing
series, Battle at the Boat. CageSport MMA continues this
Fall with the next show at the TRAC Arena in Pasco,
Washington on September 26th, and back at the Emerald
Queen on October 3rd.
