CageSport MMA Returns

Press Release from Halquist Productions

Title Bout Highlights CageSport 43; Nuro, McIntyre battle for interim lightweight crown at Emerald Queen Casino

TACOMA, Wash. – CageSport MMA returns to the Pacific Northwest on Dec. 17 when Brian Halquist Productions presents CageSport 43 at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Wash.

“Many people have asked about CageSport,” said promoter, Brian Halquist. “People liked the team concept, but there are so many regional rivalries that people wanted to see. As a promotional company, you learn that the most important person in the venue is the person who bought the ticket. They have spoken and CageSport title night is on!”

The nine-bout card will feature a main event for the CageSport Interim Lightweight championship between Bryan Nuro and Bobby McIntyre.

Also fighting at the event will be Drew Brokenshire, Patrick Benson, undefeated Rafael Brewster and Anthony Zender, who will look to extend his winning streak to eight.

“We have had a great 2016 so far and this card is the perfect way to close out the year,” Halquist said. “Nuro and McIntyre are two of the most exciting fighters on the West Coast. Either one is deserving of this championship. We have matched some of the best fights out there. I couldn’t be more excited to have CageSport back!”

Tickets are available through the EQC box office and all Ticketmaster outlets. Preliminary bouts start at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.

After opening his career with eight consecutive losses, the 140-pound Zender has found his stride, winning his last seven bouts. Standing in his way at evening his professional record will be Portland’s Journey Newson (3-1).

Fan favorite Benson, at 156 pounds, will face J.D. Burns, while equally popular Drew Brokenshire squares off against Yakima’s Eduardo Torres in the semi-main event.

Heavyweight Brewster (3-0) will attempt to keep his perfect record intact when he battles Joe Rodriguez. Also, looking to stay unbeaten will be Chris Stone (2-0), who will fight Jacob Ikaika Martin

Additional bouts include Sean Gee taking on Rodney Kealohi, Nick Coughran against Jorge Cordoba and Daniel Elliot and Dylan Atkinson meeting in a 141-pound contest.
