Fight Week at the Emerald Queen Casino; CageSport XXIX Card Set

Press Release from Halquist Productions

Tacoma, WA (February 5th, 2014) – Fighters scheduled to appear on this weekend’s CageSport XXIX card are making their final preparations as they get ready to step onto the scales Friday night and into the cage on Saturday. Headlining the action is Tacoma’s Drew Brokenshire (8-1) taking on Oregon’s Talon Hofman (9-6) in a five round main event for the CageSport featherweight title. Being featured on the undercard is five time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion, Miriam Cardoso, who will make her professional MMA debut against Oregon’s Katie Howard.

A limited amount of tickets are still available for CageSport XXIX, scheduled for Saturday, February 8th at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, WA and can be purchased at the EQC box office and online at Ticketmaster. Prices start at $35. Fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets early as the 1900 seat EQC showroom is expected to be a sellout.

Saturday night will mark the fourth time that Brokenshire will fight on a CageSport event, all four being main events for the promotion’s featherweight title. With his technical savviness and energetic fighting style, Brokenshire has become one of the Northwest’s most dynamic fighters helping him gain support as an easy CageSport fan favorite.

Brokenshire’s next opponent, Talon Hofman, could surprise the local fight fans in his first appearance on CageSport. Graduating from Burns High School in Oregon, Hofman is a four time high school state wrestling champion and figures to be a tough challenge on the ground for the current featherweight champ.

“The fight is less than a week away and I can't wait to get back in there and show why I have the CageSport Title,” said Brokenshire. “I know the crowd there is the best and I will feed off their energy and put on a pace that will match their intensity. I love fighting in front of my hometown crowd and will do everything it takes to come out with the win!”
