Battle at the Boat 73
August 29th, 2009
7:00 P.M Emerald Queen Casino
Ikeke VS. Woolnough - NABA Super Middleweight Title
Kingsley
"Sharp Knuckles" Ikeke (25-3, 14 KO's) returns to the Emerald Queen Casino to face Mark
"The Machine Gun" Woolnough (19-5, 6 KO's) for the NABA Super Middleweight Title, Saturday, August 29th. Doors open at 6:00 p.m, first fight 7:00 p.m.
The Ikeke-Woolnough fight promises to be a war. Two veteran fighters, fighting for a belt and a world ranking. Ikeke is no stranger to Northwest boxing fans, as he has come to Tacoma twice, and
KO'd local favorites Emmett Linton and Kenny Ellis. "Ikeke has beaten two of our fighters. It will be nice to finally be on his
side," said promoter Brian Halquist.
On June 20th, Ikeke defeated Tacoma's Emmett Linton at Battle of the Boat 72. After that fight promoter Brian Halquist inked Ikeke to a promotional contract.
"If you can't beat them join them. I know it's a corny saying but
it's really true in this case," said Halquist. "I really liked what I saw in Kingsley. He has an incredible work ethic and
he'll fight anybody."
"It's amazing how well-liked Ikeke has become. He loves fighting in Tacoma, and we are proud to make the Emerald Queen Casino his new
home," said Halquist. "Ikeke-Woolnough is a great fight. The winner will be in the mix of the Super Middleweight division. Mark Woolnough has fought much of his career on the Battle at the Boat cards. I really respect Mark, I know how tough he is. This fight will be one of the best fights of the
year" said Halquist
