Super Middleweight main event headlines card at Emerald Queen Casino
TACOMA, Wash. – The nation’s longest-running tribal casino professional boxing series will add another chapter to its storied history when super middleweights Dionsiso Miranda and Andrew Hernandez clash in the main event at Battle at the Boat 105 Saturday at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Wash.
Presented by Brian Halquist Productions, Battle at the Boat 105 will have six bouts, including the 10-round main event and a pair of undercard bouts featuring undefeated fighters Isaac Tadeo and Andre Keys.
Tickets are available through the EQC box office and all Ticket Master Outlets. Preliminary bouts start at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.
The main event sees knockout specialist Miranda, a former North America Boxing Association middleweight champion, square off against former Universal Boxing Federation Intercontinental super middleweight champion Hernandez.
Miranda brings a record of 22-14-2 with 19 KOs into the contest. One of his victories came in 2010 when he defeated Lajuan Simon for the WBC Continental Americas middleweight crown.
The last four opponents Hernandez (10-4-1, 2 KOs) has faced had a combined record of 51-3-1 (93 percent winning record) at the time of their bouts. He knocked out Jeff Page, Jr., who entered their fight with a 17-1-0 record, in November. Page’s only other loss came against top 10 ranked Artur Beterbiev in a contest for the WBA-NABA, NABO and IBF North American light heavyweight championship.
“We anticipate this being a war between two fighters who will go toe-to-toe with anyone in the world,” promoter Brian Halquist said. “It’s a dream matchup because of their styles. Miranda’s KO ratio speaks for itself. This guy hits hard. Hernandez is a fighter who shows no fear when he’s inside that ring. Throw in a stellar undercard and it all shapes up to a great night of boxing.”
Highlighting the undercard will be a semi-main event between Tadeo and Chad McKinney at 155 pounds. Tadeo, who train’s at Renton’s Azteca Boxing Club, brings a perfect 6-0-0 record into the bout. He last fought on Nov. 7, 2015 when he scored a unanimous decision over Cameron Sevilla-Rivera at Battle at the Boat 103.
Keys, a five-time Tacoma Golden Gloves champion and former junior national champion, won his pro debut on Jan. 15 at the Emerald Queen Casino by stopping Lexus Pagampao by second-round TKO. He will face Tommy Turner (3-5-0, 2 KO) in a scheduled four-round middleweight bout.
