The 36th in the long running AX Fighting Championships went down Sat Jan 28th in front of an entusiastic audience of fight fans inside the Edmonds Community College gym. No title fights on this evening. Just 14 amateur matchups featuring determined fighters looking for a W as they utilize what they picked up in in the hours spent inside their respective home gyms. These included Charlies Combat Club, Alderwood MMA, Arlington Kickboxing Academy, Bellingham MMA, Untamed MMA, and West Coast Fight Club. Some excellant scraps on the evening with perhaps the fight of the night belonging to featherweights Kevin Butler out of AKA and Jake Furney of C3 who battled it out for 3 rounds with Butler coming out on top with a razor thin Split Decision win. NW Fightscene's submission of the night went to C3's Rob Dyer who took out AKA's Paul Bernaud with a slick armbar. The NWFS KO of the night went to WCFC's Mason Anderson who put Michael Treat out with a couple powerful punches from mount. The next AX will be March 13th. More at axfighting.com.
