Promoters
Aric Wiseman and Charles Pearson held another of their
always entertaining AX Fighting Championships series
Saturday, February 27th from Edmonds Community College in
Lynnwood, Washington.
13
amateur bouts took place in the ring, mostly MMA but also
a couple kickboxing, 1 pankration, and 1 San Shou bout,
with the fighters representing 13 different gyms:
5th Element MMA,
Arlington Kicboxing Academy (AKA), Alderwood MMA, Chaisai Muay Thai,
Charlie's Combat Club (C3), Evolution MMA, Fight Connection,
Gamebred Jiu-jitsu, NW Elite, Shoreline MMA, Team Murray, T-Town MMA,
& the White Buffalo Warriors.
The
main event was a 145 lb MMA Ranking Match between NW
Elite's Tony Sanchez and C3's Alden Lee. This fight proved
to be an excellent matchup between two well versed athletes
and it was Sanchez who eventually came out on top by
powering out of a Lee armbar attempt and quickly turning
the tables and finishing via a Rear Naked Choke with a
minute left in the 2nd round.
 
Reagan Bennedetti
of Shoreline MMA took on Ili Wong of T-Town MMA in a 125
lb Kickboxing bout. Through a combination of speed and strength,
Bennedetti picked apart Wong through 2 rounds and got the
win when Wong was unable to continue into the 3rd.
Bennedetti also netted the Shotgun Cage Gear Fight of the
Night award
 
AX Fighting Championships
#29 will be April 17th at Edmonds Community College. More
