The AX Fighting Championships has long secured its reputation as one of the Northwest's top amateur MMA events due to stellar matchmaking that always promises a great night of action from young up-and-coming fighters from around the region. This past Saturday was no different with 1 Kickboxing and 13 MMA bouts taking place inside the Seaview Gym at Edmonds CC in front of yet another full house for AX 21 "Throwdown". The unseasonably hot weather made it a bit sticky for the crowd inside the gym but the fighters didn't seem to mind putting in high-paced performances from the get go for an appreciative audience.

The main event was the AX FC Lightweight Title fight and in it, Arlington Kickboxing Academy's, JJ "Killian" Lopez, delivered 5 rounds of pure war against a tough Eddie Dahlen for the hard-fought decision and the AX 145lb belt.

At AX 20 in March, Alderwood MMA's Robert Malphrus caught Team Psycho's Chris Cruz with a Triangle Choke. This time, Malphrus finished Cruz with his fists.
