Ax Fighting Championships #12 - August 5th, 2006 "No Mercy" Everett National Guard Armory - Everett, Washington Photos by Mike Renouard In Volume 12 of the AX Fighting Championships, the Everett Armory was standing room only as 16 hard fought bouts of MMA and Kickboxing action took place. The 32 warriors who battled it out represented the following NW fight clubs: AMC, Arlington Kickboxing Academy (AKA), Bear Clan, C.T.E.T., Charlie's Combat Club (C3), Everett Pit Fighters, Foster's BJJ, Marcelo Alonso's BJJ, Robertson's Kickboxing, Twin Dragons, United Fight Team, and Yakima MMA One highlight of the evening was the 165 lb MMA bout between T. Jay Thompson, the 40 year-old president of Hawaii's oldest MMA promotion Icon Sport, and a tough Ryan Alvarez. Thompson showed a lot of heart in his fight and it was only a deep cut over his eye that stopped the action after the 2nd round and gave the win to Alvarez. In the main event, C3's Buck Bisbey picked up the AX 155lb Pankration Title belt by dominating his bout with Yakima MMA's Jesse McCarty. Buck added this belt to the AX 135lb and 145lb belts he already has. Keep your eye on this very talented fighter as he looks to turn pro in the very near future.
